Governance in Practice: Committees, Risk and Institutional Decision-Making
1Summary
Good governance rarely fails because of missing policy — it fails in the room, when committees are poorly structured, meetings run long without producing decisions, and risk gets flagged too late to matter.
Governance in Practice, offered by the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy, is built around that reality. Participants learn how to design and run effective committees, manage meetings that actually reach decisions, and apply transparency, accountability, and risk management as working habits rather than compliance language.
The programme closes with the performance side of governance — how strong governance structures translate into measurable institutional results, and how leaders keep those structures agile enough to evolve with the organisation.
