Training Course in Developing Java Web Services with SOAP and REST
1Summary
Modern applications rarely work in isolation — they need to exchange data with other systems securely, reliably, and at scale, and Java remains one of the most widely used technologies for building that layer. This training course from the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy gives participants hands-on practice building, deploying, and monitoring both SOAP and RESTful web services in Java, rather than only covering the theory behind them.
Working through practical exercises, delegates learn to create secure, scalable, and maintainable web service solutions, covering SOAP and REST as the core web-based technologies alongside JSON and XML for data transfer. By the end of the course, participants have a working, end-to-end understanding of the Java web services landscape.
2Objectives and target group
Who should attend?
- Programmers, designers, and architects who need to build and understand web services in a Java environment.
- Testers and anyone who needs a solid working understanding of Java web services solutions.
How attendees will benefit?
After completion of the course, delegates will understand:
- Building contract-first web services from WSDL as well as code-first web services, and modifying and deploying a service’s WSDL.
- Building, deploying, and monitoring both SOAP and RESTful web services, and creating REST web services from scratch.
- Generating XML using JAXB and transferring data using JSON.
- Building secure SOAP and REST clients.
