Applied GIS: Spatial Data, Mapping and Decision-Making Training Course
1Summary
Every decision about where to build a road, respond to a flood, or allocate agricultural resources starts with the same question: what is located where, and what surrounds it? Geographic Information Systems (GIS) answer that question with precision, and this course from the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy takes participants from the fundamentals of spatial data through to applying GIS tools for real planning and decision-making tasks.
Across the program, participants build hands-on familiarity with coordinate systems, spatial databases, satellite imagery and cartographic design, then apply that knowledge to real-world scenarios in urban planning, environmental management and emergency response.
2Objectives and target group
Who Should Attend?
- Engineers in urban planning and civil engineering.
- Environmental professionals, conservationists and natural resource managers.
- Students and researchers building advanced GIS expertise.
- Government staff working on geographic planning across ministries, municipalities and agencies.
