Training Programme

Building Effective Procurement and Logistics Policies

1Summary

A department can hire skilled buyers and still lose money if it has no written policy telling those buyers how to plan, negotiate or control risk consistently. Building Effective Procurement and Logistics Policies, from Arab British Fellowship Training Academy, treats policy – not individual talent – as the backbone that keeps procurement and logistics work consistent, defensible and aligned with company objectives.

The programme is built on the understanding that logistics management is the process of planning, organising, directing and controlling – efficiently and effectively – the flow and storage of goods, services and related information from origin to consumption, in order to meet customer requirements, and that this process is carried out today through integrated information systems and economies of scale. Participants examine why virtually every organisation, public or private, needs a documented policy framework governing this function.
