IFRS in Practice: Preparing Bank Financial Statements That Hold Up to Scrutiny
1Summary
A bank's financial statements are read by regulators, investors and depositors alike, which means a single inconsistency with international standards can shake confidence far beyond the accounting department. This course from the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy focuses on exactly that pressure point: applying IFRS principles correctly when preparing financial statements in a banking environment.
A bank, at its core, is a financial institution built to receive deposits, respect withdrawal requests, grant loans, and invest surplus funds — typically paying interest on savings left untouched for an agreed period. Preparing statements that fairly represent all of that activity, in line with IFRS, is what this programme trains participants to do.
