Fourth-Generation Government Excellence Systems: A Practical Workshop
1Summary
Good decisions come from good indicators, not guesswork. Excellence management leans entirely on the information and facts describing what is happening inside and outside an organisation, used to build indicators that reveal real performance progress, catch problems early, and flag opportunities and threats before they become urgent. Building and actively running a comprehensive management information system is where every real excellence opportunity begins. Unlike traditional management, which mostly reacts once something breaks, excellence management keeps pushing for continuous development regardless of whether a problem exists, the habit that keeps an organisation ahead of its competitors, first to market with new products and performance systems, and ahead on the customer advantages rivals cannot match.
Career development has become a serious priority across institutions too, tightly linked to reworking administrative and organisational structures, simplifying procedures, distributing people and training sensibly, and building an office environment that lets staff perform at their peak, in both quantity and quality, using the latest methods and technologies to keep improving performance.
