Protecting Industrial Facilities: Practical Strategies for Risk and Emergency Management

1Summary

An oil facility and a construction site face entirely different risks, yet both can be brought down by the same mistake: a security strategy built without first understanding what threatens the facility. Arab British Fellowship Training Academy provides this training course on strategies for securing industrial facilities and the procedures that address their risks, following global approaches, methods and standards.

Securing a facility starts with focusing on the specific hazards it faces, since the right procedure only becomes clear once those risks are understood — which is why the practices used to protect an oil facility look nothing like those used for a building site. Even so, facility security generally rests on a mix of fixed foundations and variable rules that shift with requirements and scientific developments, so planning for any operation needs adequate lead time and careful review. The goal throughout is to establish safety and health measures that protect key production elements, covering fire-prevention procedures alongside the environmental, occupational and psychological safety of workers.
