Reputation, Media and Public Relations: A Working Toolkit

1Summary

A single mishandled interview, a slow response to a crisis, or a press release nobody reads can undo years of careful reputation-building. In a media environment where a message can spread far beyond an organization’s control within hours, treating public relations as an afterthought is no longer an option.

The Arab British Fellowship Training Academy designed this course to give participants the practical tools this reality demands – not just theory about what public relations is, but the skills to build relationships with journalists, manage a reputation under pressure, plan a media campaign, and use social platforms effectively, whether the goal is organizational, individual, commercial, or political.

The course moves from strategy to execution: managing media reputation, engaging with journalists and the public, using social media platforms, communicating through a crisis, and planning and running media campaigns that actually reach their intended audience.
