Training Programme

From Drawings to Data: BIM-Based Digital Construction Management Training Course (Online / Remote)

1Summary

Construction teams used to coordinate through stacks of drawings that were already out of date by the time they reached site. Building Information Modelling (BIM) changed that by giving every discipline a single, live digital model to design, check, and build from. This training course gives participants a management-level grip on BIM, so they can plan, coordinate, and lead digital construction delivery rather than simply observe it.

Participants gain a working understanding of how BIM fits inside digital engineering workflows, build hands-on familiarity with authoring tools such as Revit, and get comfortable reading and applying 3D modelling outputs on real projects. The course dedicates equal weight to clash detection and cross-discipline BIM coordination, since a model is only as useful as the coordination process built around it.

This program is delivered by Arab British Fellowship Training Academy through its From Drawings to Data: BIM-Based Digital Construction Management Training Course, designed to build the practical BIM management capability today's construction delivery teams need.

2Objectives and target group

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how BIM fits inside digital engineering workflows across the full project lifecycle
  • Build working familiarity with core BIM authoring tools, including Revit
  • Interpret and apply 3D modelling outputs to support project decisions
  • Coordinate BIM models and information across design, engineering, and construction disciplines
  • Plan, run, and resolve findings from clash detection processes before construction starts
  • Manage BIM standards, protocols, and data exchange requirements on a live project
  • Use BIM-based information, rather than fragmented drawings, to support project delivery decisions

Target Group

  • Civil, structural, and MEP engineers working with BIM
  • BIM managers, coordinators, and modelers
  • Design managers and architects working within BIM environments
  • Project and construction managers overseeing digital delivery
  • Consultants and client-side teams managing digital construction requirements
