Medical Equipment Management and Maintenance: An Online Training Course (Online / Remote)

1Summary

Not every biomedical technician can step away from a hospital floor for a week of in-person training, and this course is built around that reality. Delivered online by the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy, it gives medical device professionals a flexible way to build a solid grounding in equipment operation, safety standards, and maintenance practices without leaving their department.

The course works through device operation, preventive maintenance and calibration, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and documentation for the equipment technicians deal with most — from patient monitors and infusion pumps to imaging and laboratory devices — so participants finish with skills they can apply the same week.

2Objectives and target group

By the End of This Course, You Will Be Able To

  • Understand the operating principles of different types of medical equipment, and apply safety standards and regulatory requirements to their management.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, calibration, and troubleshooting for common issues across a range of medical devices.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, and ensure equipment efficiency and compliance with safety protocols.

Who Should Attend?

  • Biomedical equipment technicians and healthcare staff involved in managing and maintaining medical devices.
  • Medical device professionals and individuals looking to build a career in medical equipment technology.

3Course Content

Module 1: Medical Equipment and the Regulatory Framework

  • Classification of medical equipment and their roles in healthcare, and key differences between device types.
