Insurance Contract Drafting and Analysis: Skills, Pitfalls and Case Studies (Online / Remote)
1Summary
Before a single claim is ever paid, there's a contract — and how well that contract is drafted determines whether a dispute gets resolved smoothly or ends up in court. This Arab British Fellowship Training Academy course builds the skills needed to manage insurance contracts confidently: understanding their terms, drafting them correctly, and applying them in real situations involving employees at companies and organisations.
An insurance contract, or policy, is an agreement between insurer and insured in which the insurer commits to paying compensation — a fixed financial amount specified in the contract — to the insured or a beneficiary. In exchange, the insured pays a premium, either as a lump sum or in instalments, once the risks named in the contract materialise. Three features define these contracts: they're consensual (based on mutual agreement), compensatory (each side receives something in return), and probabilistic — at signing, neither party knows exactly what they'll ultimately pay or receive, since that depends on whether an unforeseen event occurs in the future.
