Training Course in Electronic Information Systems: From Paper Records to Digital Storage (Online / Remote)
1Summary
Until the early 1990s, most institutional information still lived on paper. Then Information Systems began developing so quickly that even specialists struggled to keep pace — full-text retrieval systems appeared, and information production shifted decisively from the printed page to electronic form. What started as a way to digitise old printed records has since grown into something far bigger: electronic information sources are now woven into entertainment, education, culture and everyday communication.
This course traces that shift in practical terms — from how hard disks and other magnetic storage physically record and retrieve data, to the security measures that keep electronic information safe once it is no longer sitting in a locked filing cabinet but flowing across networks.
