Offshore Drilling Operations Training Course (Online / Remote)

1Summary

An offshore drilling platform is essentially a small floating city built around a single job: reaching oil or gas trapped under the seabed and getting it to shore safely. Everything about it — the rig, the positioning systems, the crew accommodation — exists to support that one process, which is exactly what this course sets out to unpack stage by stage.

This course from the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy walks through the stages and operations of offshore drilling and the methods used to drill gas and oil wells. An oil rig, or offshore platform — commonly called a drilling rig — is a large well-drilling structure equipped to extract and process oil and natural gas, and to temporarily store output before it moves to shore for refining and marketing; many designs also include accommodation for the crew working on board.
