Harnessing Technology to Capture and Manage Organizational Knowledge (Online / Remote)
1Summary
Knowledge accumulates inside every organization — in documents, in systems, in the experience of long-serving staff — but very few companies have a real method for capturing it before it is lost. Arab British Fellowship Training Academy presents this course on knowledge acquisition systems and the managerial sciences of knowledge, positioned as part of Information Technology Management.
The target of this course is to help participants build information systems capable of growing an organization's technological knowledge, moving step by step toward the expert-level standard reached only after deep analysis. Knowledge management through this technological lens starts with databases and extends into today's most modern technologies, and it connects directly to how decisions get made inside organizations.
None of this is possible without Information Systems (IS) as the underlying infrastructure: a set of computer programs that helps companies organize work, facilitate communication and push their progress forward. Given how much accumulated knowledge already exists in different forms across the Information Systems field, this course also covers the engineering behind knowledge and the methods multiple knowledge information systems depend on.
