Understanding and Managing Public Opinion Course (Online / Remote)

1Summary

A policy can be technically sound and still collapse in public if no one has accounted for how people actually form opinions about it — through culture, social groups, political affiliation, and the media they consume. Reading that process accurately, rather than guessing at it, is what separates organisations that shape the conversation from the ones that get shaped by it.

This course, provided by the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy, examines public opinion as a concept and evaluates political formation, communication theories, and media influence, to help participants understand how people shape their views and how to communicate with them effectively enough to move those views toward the outcomes they're aiming for.

Public opinion research now occupies a central position across political systems and doctrines worldwide, at both the theoretical and applied level, and public relations plays a direct role in it — carrying responsibility for corporate reputation and social responsibility, and helping organisations adapt to new sustainability agendas by improving relationships and facilitating public dialogue.
