Sustainability in maritime transport used to be treated as a side project — a few green initiatives layered on top of operations that otherwise ran exactly as before. That approach doesn't survive contact with today's ports, regulators, and cargo owners, all of whom now expect environmental performance to be built into how a shipping business actually runs, not bolted onto its marketing. The The Long Voyage: Sustainable Maritime Transport and Environmental Management Training Course, delivered by Arab British Fellowship Training Academy, is built for professionals who need sustainability to hold up as a long-term operating reality, not a short-term initiative.

The course begins with why sustainability has become core to maritime transport rather than a side project, then moves into building green ports and sustainable infrastructure, cutting emissions across the transport chain, and treating environmental compliance as a system rather than a checklist. Participants then explore the technology and innovation reshaping sustainable fleet management, and close with the leadership and stakeholder engagement skills needed to drive that transition across an organisation over years, not quarters. Participants leave equipped to manage sustainable maritime transport as an ongoing operating discipline.
