A bank's core job sounds simple – take deposits, extend loans, process payments – but keeping that machine running safely takes constant financial planning and equally constant oversight. Banks are cash-receiving institutions that honour depositors' withdrawal requests, extend credit, and invest any surplus deposits, all while offering financial services to virtually any type of business.
That combination only holds together when planning and control run side by side: planning sets the direction, control makes sure the bank doesn't drift from it – including the interest paid on savings, a practice Islamic finance treats as forbidden when structured as compound interest on loans. The Arab British Fellowship Training Academy built this course around exactly that planning-and-control partnership.
