A municipality that still processes permits on paper is competing with cities that issue them online in minutes. This training course by the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy helps municipal staff close that gap, building the administrative and digital skills needed to run e-municipality applications and modernise how services reach citizens.
Municipalities are the government bodies tasked with developing the cities and villages around them — everything from general cleanliness and street lighting to landscaping, tree planting and road paving. Chief among their responsibilities is delivering water and electricity across the city and its surrounding villages, alongside a major role in sanitation and general facility maintenance. The mayor holds ultimate responsibility for running the municipality and making decisions, supported by consulting engineers and assistants, across departments that include the technical section responsible for planning cities, buildings and government projects.
