Occupational safety and health, at its core, is about preventing work-related injury and disease while protecting and improving people's lives — and getting that right starts with correctly anticipating risk before it turns into harm. The Training Course on Continuously Improving Occupational Safety and Health Systems, delivered by the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy, looks at how organizations sustain safe, healthy working conditions in line with the International Labour Organization's strategy over the years.
Managing safety and health systems well means following a logical, step-by-step method for improving performance — one refined over the past fifty years through a chain of regulations and agreements, from the Deming principle through the Robbins report and ILO conventions 155, 164, 187 and 197, up to OHSAS standards and ISO 14000.
