Projects rarely fail because the idea was bad — they fail because risks were never properly assessed, or because the numbers behind the investment decision were never stress-tested. This course, delivered by the Arab British Fellowship Training Academy, tackles both problems together.
On the risk side, participants build a working risk management framework: how to identify, measure, and assess risk, set governance and reporting structures around it, and choose between transferring, minimising, or absorbing potential losses.
On the valuation side, the course covers how to judge whether a project is worth pursuing in the first place, using tools such as net present value, internal rate of return, and technical and marketing feasibility studies, through to the implementation and transaction stages once a project is approved.
Case studies and field exercises throughout the course let participants apply both the risk and valuation tools to realistic project scenarios.
