The Arab British Fellowship Training Academy offers a training course in the maintenance of electric motors and their types, depending on the type of motor relative to the electric current passing through it. The forms of electric motors in laboratories vary in terms of their sizes and uses, so we reduce the small and giant ones used for several industrial purposes, and they differ in terms of classification in their use of electric current. In the end, the engine remains the heart of the machine, as it is he who directs it and runs the production wheel with it.

 Who should attend?

• Supervisors and workers in electrical maintenance.
• Electrical engineers and electrical maintenance technicians for laboratories.
• Energy engineers and workers in factories and vital facilities.

How attendees will benefit?

After completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

• Identification of common motors malfunctions
• Identify the types of supplements used to protect motors
• How to protect the motors.
• Basic vocabulary for motors of all kinds.
• Identifying motor sectors and their divisions, such as carbon brushes, standardization members, slip rings, and others.
• Familiarity with the methods of maintenance of electric motors.
• Checking the motors periodically, especially in the motors whose work affects the safety of workers or reduces the production rate.

• Introduction to the concept of maintenance.
• Principles of motor operation, types and installation.
• Common malfunctions of motors (failures of DC motors - malfunctions of induction motors - malfunctions of synchronous motors).
• Types of complements: overload complement - overcurrent Complement - differential complement..etc.
• Protection of electric motors.
• Protection against overload and overcurrent.
• Protection against the breakdown of insulators for the motor.
• Protection against the contact of one of the faces with the ground.
• Protection against rotor failures.
• Protection against the imbalance of the source feeding the motor.
• Protection against loss of lighting current.
• Protection against different faces.
• Maintenance of electric motors of all kinds.
• The importance of maintaining electric motors
• DC motors
• AC induction motors.
• Synchronous AC motors.
• Periodic checks of motors.
